Citi Accounts

What are Citi Accounts that participate in ThankYou® Rewards?

Citi Accounts are all the different Citi businesses who participate in ThankYou Rewards for the benefit of their eligible customers. Through eligible accounts with the individual Citi Accounts, you can earn ThankYou Points: for making purchases with a CitiŽ credit card participating in ThankYou Rewards; and for the eligible consumer checking relationship you hold with Citibank. A list of eligible ways to earn ThankYou Points can be found at thankyou.com/getpoints

Eligible CitiŽ Corporate Travel & Entertainment Cards can also earn ThankYou Points through enrollment in the CitiŽ Corporate Card Rewards Program. To find out if your Citi Corporate Travel & Entertainment Card is eligible to be enrolled in the Citi Corporate Card Rewards Program, call the Corporate Card call center at 1-800-248-4553.

What are Citi Accounts?

Citi Accounts are your individual accounts that offer ThankYou® Points. Only specific Citi Accounts offer ThankYou Points including:

  • Citi® credit cards participating in ThankYou Rewards, including:
    • - Eligible Citi Corporate Travel & Entertainment Cards enrolled in the Citi Corporate Card Rewards Program
  • Eligible Citibank® consumer checking accounts enrolled in ThankYou Rewards
Here's an example of Citi Accounts. If you have a Citi ThankYou Preferred Card and an enrolled Citibank checking account with a ThankYou Member Account linked to your profile, you have two Citi Accounts.

What is a ThankYou® Member Account?

Each Citi Account has a related ThankYou Member Account where all the points earned from that individual Citi Account are stored and can be viewed in your Points Summary. If you have more than one Citi Account, you can combine your accounts and pool the points into one ThankYou® Member Account.

Where do I find My Citi Accounts?

Once signed on, just click the icon next to "Welcome to ThankYouŽ Rewards" on the left end of the ID bar at the top of the site, then click My Citi Accounts.

Can I combine my points from multiple Citi Accounts?

Absolutely, as long as all the Citi Accounts are owned by the same person. If you have one (or more) Citi® credit cards participating in ThankYou® Rewards, Citibank® consumer checking account and other linked banking products and services or an enrolled Citi Corporate Travel & Entertainment Card, you can combine these accounts and pool the points into one ThankYou Member Account. Simply go to Add a Sponsor Account in the My Account section to pool all your points into one place.

Please note that if you combine your ThankYou Member Accounts, any action taken concerning points from one Citi Account may affect all the points in your ThankYou Member Account.

What are the benefits of adding Citi Accounts to my existing ThankYou® account?

By combining multiple Citi Accounts, you can accumulate points faster into one ThankYou Member Account. The more accounts you combine, the quicker the points in your ThankYou Account add up to get you the rewards you want...faster.

How do I add Citi Accounts to my existing ThankYou® Member Account?

Simply go to My Citi Accounts in the My Account section and click on "Combine Selected Accounts" in order to combine your Citi Accounts.

Is one of your Citi Accounts not showing up? Go to Add a Citi Account to combine your accounts manually.

What if I have more than one Citi Account and only one Citi Account is closed?

If you have more than one participating Citi Accont in your ThankYou® Member Account and only one of your Citi Accounts is closed, your ThankYou Member Account will not be closed. However, you will no longer be able to accumulate points through your closed Citi Account and may lose the ThankYou points that you earned through that Citi Account and through ThankYou Rewards.

What happens if my Citi Account is closed?

If your Citi Account linked to your ThankYou® Member Account is closed for any reason, you will no longer be able to accumulate ThankYou Points through that Citi Account. If you close your participating Citi® credit card account or Citi closes your credit card account due to inactivity, you will have 60 days from account closing to redeem the ThankYou Points associated with that Citi Account. If Citi closes your credit card account for any other reason, ThankYou Points associated with that Citi Account will be forfeited immediately. If you have a Citibank® consumer checking account enrolled in ThankYou Rewards, you will have 60 days from the date that Citi Account is closed to redeem any accumulated ThankYou Points associated with that Citi Account. After that time, you may lose the ThankYou Points that you earned through that Citi Account and through ThankYou Rewards. If all your Citi Accounts are closed, ThankYou Rewards reserves the right to close your ThankYou Member Account.

Are my ThankYou® Points available for redemption if I make a late payment on my Citi® credit card account?

If you are late in making a payment on your participating CitiŽ credit card account, any ThankYou Points you earned through that Citi Account may not be available for redemption until you make all payments due on your CitiŽ credit card account and then request reinstatement of those points either through your Points Summary on thankyou.com or by calling the ThankYou Service Center at 1-800-THANKYOU (1-800-842-6596). Our hours of operation are from Monday to Friday, 8am to 1am ET and Saturday and Sunday, 9am to 9pm ET. Outside the U.S., please call collect at 859-283-8016. TDD/TTY for the hearing impaired, please call 1-877-693-0218. These Points will remain eligible for reinstatement until they expire in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable participating CitiŽ credit card account.

If ThankYou® Rewards closes my ThankYou Member Account, is there a way to reinstate those points at a later date?

If ThankYou Rewards closes your ThankYou Member Account, the points associated with the ThankYou Member Account will not be reinstated.

What happens if my ThankYou® Points are unavailable for redemption due to a Citi Account error?

If ThankYou Points are unavailable for redemption due to a Citi Account error, then the Citi Account will notify ThankYou Rewards of the error and ThankYou Rewards will take appropriate steps to rectify the problem.
